City & Guilds Level 2 Award in the safe application of pesticides from the air

PA7 – We Passed!

We are the first ever to pass the modified aerial qualification for drone use.

Process

The standard Pesticide Application qualification for aerial application of pesticides (PA7) has been recently modified by City and Guilds to include drone use. However the issue wit such a new qualification is that there was no-one yet able to deliver a course for it, or any kind of training.

Therefore, with guidance from City and Guilds, we trained ourselves, learning and developing everything necessary to pass the exam. Along the way we had to overcome some practical issues and modify the drone system, all the time working towards being able to effectively and accurately apply pesticides.

A head examiner from City and Guilds traveled up to examine us, and we are delighted to be the first in the country, if not the whole of Europe to gain an aerial pesticide application cert specifically for drone spraying.

The next stages are in progress, working toward commercial UK spraying operations next year.

Training Course

After the success of passing the PA7. We will be developing our own training program and course for anyone wishing to complete their PA7, alongside specific training for CAA permissions to conduct drone spraying operations in the UK.

These courses will allow us to offer a full package, enabling business’ to begin to use this exciting new technology to efficiently cover targeted areas over any terrain, with no adverse impact to the environment.

We expect to be able to offer these courses towards the end of 2016.
